What is a Local Strategic Partnership (LSP)?

LSPs were set upset up to bring together key public, private, voluntary and community sector organisations to work on improving quality of life at a local level.

These Partnerships are seen by the Government as a way of ensuring that local services are delivered in the most effective way for local people. They are seen as fundamental to tackling key issues for local people such as access to services, activities for young people, jobs, education, health and housing. Solutions to these issues require a range of organisations to work together.

South Lakeland Strategic Partnership has developed a multi-agency task group for each of the main areas of activity covered by the South Lakeland Sustainable Community Strategy. These areas are:-

  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Jobs, Skills and Regeneration
  • Housing to Meet Local Need
  • Accessibility
  • A Quality Environment
  • Community Involvement
  • Crime and Disorder Reduction
  • Children and Young People
